It’s raining, it’s pouring… so cheer up with another wonderful Listserv update! I promise I’ll try to make this as short and sweet as possible.
I. Next CASA Meeting
CASA’s second general body meeting will be on Wednesday, February 2nd in CSE A101. As always, doors open at 6:00PM and the meeting starts at 6:30PM. Remember to mark your calendars!
II. CASA Chinese New Year Show
Save the date! CASA’s Chinese New Year Show will be on Saturday, January 19th in the Reitz Grand Ballroom. We are looking for performers, choreographers for traditional dance, and emcees/stars for our show. If you’re interested, please contact casa.specialevent@gmail.com
III. Help Wanted: Gainesville Chinese School
The Gainesville Chinese School is seeking volunteers to help out with their Chinese New Year show. We will be volunteering on Saturday, January 29th from 9PM-12AM and from Sunday, January 30th from 3PM-7PM. If you’re interested, contact Maggie at casa.president@gmail.com
IV. Want a CASA Sweater?
Contact Sylvia at casa.treasurer@gmail.com if you’re interested in buying a CASA sweater. If we get enough people interested, we’ll order more.
V. AASU: the Musical Auditions
AASU is looking for talented singers and actors to star in AASU: the Musical as part of AASU week in March. Auditions will be held on January 30th from 6PM-10PM in Reitz 284. The audition will involve a cold reading, and a one minute music piece. For girls, you have to sing “Love Song” by Sarah Bareilles. For the guys, have to sing “Marry You” by Bruno Mars.
VI. CASAwesome Actors Wanted
Our historians are looking for individuals to star in our next CASA video. If you’re interested, please contact casa.historian@gmail.com
VII. Dream Corps Recruitment
Dream Corps is recruiting about 65 international volunteers to participate in its 2011 Summer Volunteer Program in underprivileged rural schools (township elementary or middle schools) and villages of China.
