So first time blogging not really sure what to talk about. Guess I’ll start with a little about myself: I’m Brazilian so I thought it would be awkward joining the CASA officer board at first, but it was the complete opposite. I felt welcomed from the very beginning
. Ummm….I currently work at Dominos Pizza on 13th, I make pizzas so don’t expect to order a pizza and see me knocking on your door. Ian has a borderline obsession with my hair..but pretty sure he just has an obsession with touching people awkwardly. A little random but he is currently rubbing my hair…
I have actually been a part of CASA for a while now; want to say it’s my third in CASA. But it’s my first year as an officer and it’s definitely different. I liked being able to just show up to things and not being responsible for anything. So far all the events I have planned has gone well so far
Currently busy balancing work, school, helping finish up Wen’s dance for CNY(CASA Chinese New Year and CASA sports. CNY couldn’t of had better timing for me, I have a football game on Wednesday also the our general body meeting, an exam on Thursday followed by a soccer game on the same day. Work on Friday and practice every day with Wen for Traditional dance and then the big day on Saturday. So I want to apologize in advance if I seem out of it when you see me.
I’m not going to lie though; I didn’t think that today was my turn to blog. However thanks to my lovely officers for blowing up my phone at work to remind me. I was able to make this blog post on time and avoid the looks of disappointment that I would be getting from them.
Well I hope everyone Enjoys our CASA New Year’s Show we are all putting a lot of effort into it and I just want to say thanks to everybody who is participating in the show this coming weekend.

Amanda here, the other special events coordinator. So it’s my first time ever blogging so I’m not really sure what to write about, but I’ll try my best ^_^.
Well I guess I’ll start with saying a little more about myself, I’m not the most social person on the board for sure, my idea of fun is being wrapped up in a good book, I’m an avid reader, I would be reading all the time if I wasn’t so busy with school. I love classics, Victor Hugo and Tolstoy are my favorite writers <3. I don’t know a lot of people who share my passion for classics in college which makes me sad, but what can you do. I’m also a huge Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings Fan. So basically I’m a huge nerd and I’m okay with that =P.
What else is there to know about me….well most people don’t know I have a twin brother (I tend to forget people don’t know that). I also can trace my heritage from every continent besides Australia and of course Antarctica =P. I like the fact I come from such a diverse heritage, my mother was born in Suriname, which is in South America, my Grandfather’s family comes from Egypt and my Grandmother’s family comes from India. My dad’s side of the family comes from Ireland. I’ve grown up with people asking me where I’m from and most people never guess right at first.
So today is January 30th, today marks the 6 month anniversary of me and my boyfriend Lorenz. I love him so much, he has really been an amazing boyfriend for the past six months. He has been there for me for the hard moments of my life, and I have to say there have been some really difficult points in the last six months of my life, I’ve cried many times, and he has always been there for me, and for that I am eternally grateful. Six months ago today, he asked me out at the CASA beach trip, I knew he was going to do it (but he didn’t know I knew but I’m just smart like that
). Anyway I’m grateful he’s been in my life.
The last thing I want to talk about is CASA. CASA this year has been like a family to me, more than I thought it would be when I became an officer. I feel like if anything is wrong I can talk to my CASA family about it, I will never regret being an officer, it is such a rewarding experience, this year I have grown so much as a person and made so many new friends. I love my CASA officers <3. Also being special events coordinator is such a fun yet difficult position. I really love my co, I didn’t know Christina last year, but now we are very close friends, I love her so much. The position is very time consuming and stressful, but in the end Christina and I put on a show that I personally never thought I could do, which in itself is a rewarding, though we both are exhausted afterwards. I look forward to Chinese New Years this Saturday, we have worked really hard on it, and I hope it all goes well, you can’t hope for perfection, but I hope everything works out for the best. I hope everyone enjoys it.
Anyway that’s enough about me. Thanks for reading my first post!
