The Chinese American Student Association (CASA) is an organization for the students, by the students. The Chinese American organization strives to promote the Chinese and Chinese American heritage at the University of Florida campus and in the Gainesville community through social and community events.
Members of CASA are comprised of Chinese and American students on campus united to show the appreciation of the Chinese culture–both of the old traditions and contemporary ideas, and of the Chinese American influence.
We have many cultural events that attract students on campus: the Chinese New Year Celebration, the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, Asian Kaleidoscope Month, and Asian cultural events, and other on-/off-campus events. We also have social gatherings among members like paintball, sports activities, baking and cooking fundraisers, and monthly parties and get-togethers. In addition, to shed light on CASA, we organize several community service projects in Gainesville.
The Association also acts as an outreach program for our members. Whether a CASA member needs homework tutoring or someone to talk to about their personal problems, CASA aims to provide a facet of relief for its own members. In CASA, no one is looked down upon because of their distinct cultural ethnicity, color, distinct cultural ethnicity, color, sex, class, or background.
